There's no place like home for the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They took down Worth County 69-50 on Tuesday. For Fitzgerald, this counts as revenge for the 64-61 loss Worth County walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fitzgerald to victory, but perhaps none more so than Victor Copeland, who scored 17 points. Daniel Harris was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Fitzgerald is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Worth County, they dropped their record down to 14-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fitzgerald will take on Jeff Davis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fitzgerald knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Jeff Davis likes a good challenge. As for Worth County, they will be playing at home against Sumter County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
