Grafton extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping their season record up to 15-13 in the process. They put the hurt on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish with a sharp 13-2 win. The match marked the Bearcats' most dominant victory of the season.
Jacob Moats made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Ethan Penland looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Grafton got a massive performance out of Carter Gillespie, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Gillespie has become a key player for the Bearcats: the team is 6-3 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 9-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Noah Fletcher, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Grafton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
As for Notre Dame, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-6 record. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
On Notre Dame's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jovanni Minnocci, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Kaiden Posey was another, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.
Looking ahead, Grafton will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Lincoln at 11:00 a.m. As for Notre Dame, they will face off against Elkins at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
