Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Effingham). They were the clear victor by an 80-57 margin over the Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets on Saturday. With the Mustangs ahead 39-19 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

South Effingham's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Will Harlin led the charge by going 7 of 11 en route to 14 points and five steals. Those five steals gave Harlin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Landyn White, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds.

South Effingham smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive matchups.

South Effingham's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Southeast Bulloch, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

South Effingham and Southeast Bulloch could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. South Effingham (ranked 435th) will meet Statesboro (ranked 75th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Southeast Bulloch (ranked 538th) will meet Liberty County (ranked 188th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
