Baseball Recap: Fort Mill Has No Trouble Against Rock Hill

Fort Mill won the last time they faced Rock Hill and things went their way on Wednesday too. Fort Mill put the hurt on Rock Hill with a sharp 14-3 win. The Yellow Jackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Caden Stevens looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

On the hitting side, Fort Mill let John Risk and Jacob Pettit run wild. Risk scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Pettit scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Those two runs gave Risk a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew Craddock, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Fort Mill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Fort Mill is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. Rock Hill's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-9.
