The Central Bobcats entered their tilt with the Metro Tech Knights with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Central enjoyed a cozy 58-39 win over Metro Tech on Wednesday. That's another feather in the cap for Central, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lia Sims, who scored 34 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which Sims has scored at least 25% of Central's points. Selena Soto was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five steals.
Central's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Metro Tech, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.
Central and Cesar Chavez will round out the year against one another at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Hopefully Cesar Chavez focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Thursday. Metro Tech will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
