Ash Walker spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Cuyahoga Falls got a massive performance out of Madi Davis, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most triples Davis has posted since back in March. MJ Mastrodonato was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cuyahoga Falls kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Tallmadge didn't have quite enough to beat Aurora on Wednesday and fell 6-5. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the Greenmen: they've now lost five in a row.
Leila Staszak made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 4-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played.
Cuyahoga Falls' win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Tallmadge, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
Tallmadge's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Cuyahoga Falls has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. It's a different story for Tallmadge, though, as they've been averaging 8.9 hits. Given Cuyahoga Falls' sizable advantage in that area, the Blue Devils will need to find a way to close that gap.
