Parker Hess spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Hayden Poeppelman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Griffin Bruns was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Elmwood earned a 7-3 victory over Lakota on Friday.
Zackery Gross was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Marion Local's win bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Elmwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.
