The San Jacinto Tigers managed to keep up with the Hemet Bulldogs until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. San Jacinto ended up on the wrong side of a rough 84-64 walloping at the hands of Hemet. While losing is never fun, San Jacinto can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 586th, while Hemet is ranked 119th).
Hemet got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Quinton Skinner out in front who scored 21 points along with 8 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kee-esoul Pitchford, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 10 rebounds.
San Jacinto now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Hemet, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Jacinto will take on San Gorgonio at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. San Gorgonio is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Hemet, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Twentynine Palms at 5:30 p.m. on December 11th.
