In what's become a running theme this season, the Springwood Wildcats gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They really took it to Southern Prep Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 69-29 victory at home. The victory was nothing new for Springwood as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Daniel Westbrook was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with five rebounds and three steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Johnathan Hinton, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Springwood's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.6 points per game. As for Southern Prep Academy, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.
Springwood won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Macon-East Montgomery Academy at 12:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Macon-East Montgomery Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Thursday. Southern Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
