Rya Buschur made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Paige Felver also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Ansonia came out on top against Newton Local on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fourth inning. The Tigers blew past the Indians 13-3. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.
Bre Walker tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.
At the plate, Addie Geyer and Miley Walls did most of the damage at the plate: Geyer went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two doubles, while Walls went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Walls a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Avalyn Locke, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Ansonia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
The win got Ansonia back to even at 8-8. As for St. Henry, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. St. Henry hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Ansonia struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
