The Stone Mountain Pirates will head out on the road to challenge the Miller Grove Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
While it was all tied up 2-2 at halftime, Stone Mountain was not quite Centennial's equal in the second half on Thursday. They suffered a tough 5-2 loss at the hands of the Knights. One reason for the loss might be Stone Mountain's aggressive play style: three Stone Mountain players were handed yellow cards.
Happy Agaba wasn't going to let Centennial walk away unscathed as he scored both of Stone Mountain's goals. With that big game, he's now up to two goals this season.
Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, Miller Grove made sure to put some goals up on the board against Hapeville Charter on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-3 win over the Hornets.
Stone Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Miller Grove, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Stone Mountain took their win against Miller Grove when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 10-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stone Mountain since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
