Baseball Recap: Centennial Extends Winning Streak to Three

Centennial hadn't done well against Oakwood recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Chargers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Comets, sneaking past 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Chargers, who have now won three contests in a row.

Centennial saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tate Sauer, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Centennial's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Oakwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centennial will square off against Peoria Notre Dame at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Chargers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Irish have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season. As for Oakwood, they will challenge Milford at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
