In what's become a running theme this season, the Notre Dame Prep Saints gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 76-38 victory over Higley. Winning may never get old, but Notre Dame Prep sure is getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Notre Dame Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Pautz, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Pautz is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 20 or more in the last three games she's played. Brooke Nowak was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with two steals.
Higley's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Cadence Murdough, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds, and Izzy Krpata who scored nine points along with three steals. Murdough is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Notre Dame Prep pushed their record up to 21-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.5 points per game. As for Higley, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame Prep won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Firebirds at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. Chaparral has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Higley, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Coyotes at 5:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Arizona (Campo Verde is ranked 56th, while the Knights are ranked 65th).
