After flying high against the Ezekiel Academy Knights last Tuesday, the East Central HomeSchool Patriots came back down to earth. East Central HomeSchool took a 69-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tuscaloosa Home Educators on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (60), East Central HomeSchool still had to take the loss.
East Central HomeSchool's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Greyson Boyd, who scored 23 points along with three steals. Boyd is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Anthony Knetter was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
It was another big night for Caleb Farley, who scored 27 points for Tuscaloosa Home Educators. Another player making a difference was Parker Pate, who scored 13 points.
East Central HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Tuscaloosa Home Educators, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7.
East Central HomeSchool will head out on the road to face off against Heritage Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Heritage Christian Academy is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Tuscaloosa Home Educators, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Evangel Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Evangel Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Tuscaloosa Home Educators likes a good challenge.
