The Glenn Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Fairfield Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Glenn put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past South Bend Clay 64-0 at home. Given Glenn's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 120th, while South Bend Clay is ranked 300th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chase Miller was a one-man wrecking crew for Glenn as he rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, and also threw for 88 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Kobelt, who rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
Fairfield fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Jimtown by a score of 17-6 on Friday.
The critical scores for Fairfield came from Sawyer Ernsberger and Ethan Schmucker.
Glenn's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Fairfield, their win also bumped their record up to an identical 6-4.
Friday's match might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Glenn has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 180.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Fairfield struggles in that department as they've been even better at 249.1 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Glenn strolled past Fairfield when the teams last played back in October of 2022 by a score of 24-7. Will Glenn repeat their success, or does Fairfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
