The Madison-Grant Argylls's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 57-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eastbrook. Madison-Grant was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Eastbrook apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Madison-Grant's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Clayton Hull, who scored 18 points. The game was Hull's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Teagan Yeagy, who scored 12 points.
Madison-Grant's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-7. As for Eastbrook, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Madison-Grant will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Blackford at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Hopefully Blackford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday. Eastbrook will finish 2023 at home by hosting Adams Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Adams Central has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 274 points over their last four contests.
