The Lamar Warriors entered their tilt with the Clinton Yellowjackets with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Lamar snuck past Clinton with a 27-21 win on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lamar also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
It was another big night for Caleb Green, who rushed for 124 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 77 yards and a touchdown. Green was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards.
Lamar is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Clinton, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar will take on Central Arkansas Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central Arkansas Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten games -- so hopefully Lamar likes a good challenge. As for Clinton, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Dover at 7:00 p.m. Dover is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
