Even though the Hillcrest Huskies have not done well against the Mountain Ridge Sentinels recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Hillcrest came out on top against Mountain Ridge by a score of 57-47. The score was all tied up 28-28 at the break, but Hillcrest was the better team in the second half.
Hillcrest's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zach Tanner, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Damani Wilkerson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 4 steals.
Mountain Ridge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Will Lindsay, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Spencer Krainich, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Hillcrest now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Mountain Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Hillcrest will be playing at home against Summit Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mountain Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Brighton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
