Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Carvers Bay Bears, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell just short of Lamar by a score of 23-20.
Lamar got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Travion Mcphail out in front who rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns. Mcphail has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last three times he's played. Tavis Dolford also helped out with an impressive 113 receiving yards.
Carvers Bay's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Lamar, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
Carvers Bay does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lamar has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Johnsonville at 7:30 p.m. on November 17th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Johnsonville is ranked 121st, while Lamar is ranked 111th).
