With a playoff game on the line, the Montclair Cavaliers rose to the challenge on Friday. They strolled past Garey with points to spare, taking the game 34-16. The win made it back-to-back wins for Montclair.
Montclair had a senior duo take command as Anthony Cervantes rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry and Elijah Tehe gained 177 total yards. Tehe hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games.
Montclair's win bumped their record up to 6-6. As for Garey, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Montclair will be playing at home against St. Monica at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Monica is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. Garey does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
