Bryson Bates was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
Minco was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Southwest Covenant entered their tilt with Hinton on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They beat the Comets by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. Considering the Patriots have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kale Karn made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. He has become a key player for Southwest Covenant: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6 otherwise.
In other batting news, Tate Flanary was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Southwest Covenant is undefeated when Flanary posts two or more runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brewer Lee, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
