Softball Recap: Braddock Snags Ninth Victory in Last Ten Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Braddock walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 19-4 margin over the Southwest Eagles on Wednesday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.

Emely Ramirez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Ramirez was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, Catherine Fuerte was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Cancio, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs.

Braddock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southwest only managed two hits.

Braddock is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11 runs. As for Southwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Coming up, Braddock will be playing in front of their home fans against West Boca Raton at 3:30 p.m. on the 8th. Southwest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
