Baseball Recap: Versailles' Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Versailles entered their tilt with St. John on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Bluejays. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ben Subler was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Jace Watren was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Versailles' victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for St. John's, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Looking ahead, Versailles will be playing at home against Fort Recovery at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 2.9, the Indians 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for St. John's, they will challenge Wayne Trace at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
