Midlothian is 8-2 against Manchester since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Trojans will be playing at home against the Lancers at 5:00 p.m. Midlothian is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Midlothian had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 16-run drubbing they dealt Richmond High School for the Arts on Thursday. The Trojans' pitchers stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 16-0 shutout. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.
Lea Foldeneaur and Charlotte Daniels were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Foldeneaur pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Daniels pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up a single walk in eight consecutive appearances. At bat, Foldeneaur went 1-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while Daniels went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double was Daniels' first of the season.
In other pitching news, Molly Bozzo looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Liberty Cooper, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Gabi Horoschak was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs.
Midlothian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .778. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Manchester couldn't beat Atlee on Monday even though they stacked five runs on them in the seventh inning. The Lancers fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 7-5. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Midlothian pushed their record up to 17-0 with the victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Manchester, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
Midlothian's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's matchup. The Trojans have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Manchester, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Midlothian continue to outrun the ball?
Midlothian skirted past Manchester 2-1 when the teams last played back in April. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
