The White House Blue Devils will be playing at home against the Macon County Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (White House has six straight victories, Macon County has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Portland scored an imposing 62 points on Tuesday, White House still came out on top. White House walked away with a 71-62 win over Portland. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but White House was the better team in the second half.
White House's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Louis Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Worrell, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine assists.
Meanwhile, Macon County pushed their score all the way to 55 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Clay County by a score of 57-55.
White House is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Macon County, their defeat was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-16.
White House didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Macon County in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 70-66 victory.
