The Camp Verde Cowboys pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Blue Ridge. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (58), Camp Verde still had to take the loss.
Camp Verde's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Bahe, who scored 23 points along with 9 rebounds. The contest was Bahe's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Julian Perez was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Camp Verde and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Blue Ridge, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Camp Verde will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against St. Johns at 3:00 p.m. on December 8th. St. Johns will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 204th, while Camp Verde is ranked 11th). As for Blue Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Morenci at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Morenci is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
