Ja'marion Garrett Tops All Others This Week
Starting off the list is Dunbar's Ja'Marion Garrett, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Garrett rushed for 193 yards and five touchdowns on only six carries.
For the year, Garrett has run in 10 touchdowns while averaging 165 rushing yards per game.

Big Game from Groeneweg As Glen Rose Won 56-6
Glen Rose found a leader in Josiah Groeneweg as the team took down Hillsboro on Friday. Groeneweg did his part (and then some), rushing for 202 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, and also catching a touchdown for the 'W'. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 61 yards.
If the past is any indication, Groeneweg could be in store for another big game when he takes on Venus on Friday. Groeneweg picked up 212 receiving yards and three touchdowns the last time he and the Bulldogs duked it out back in October of 2023.

Canyon Evans Makes It Two for Glen Rose
Keeping Groeneweg company is Canyon Evans, a fellow Glen Rose player. He threw for 231 yards and five touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played.
Evans might have his next game, a home matchup with Venus, circled on his calendar. Evans threw for 379 yards and six touchdowns on only 19 passes the last time he and the Bulldogs duked it out back in October of 2023.

Sadly, Adam Pempsell posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Godley over Benbrook on Friday. Pempsell rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns.
Godley now has a losing record at 3-4. Pempsell and Godley will look to defend their home field on Friday against Dunbar at 7:00 p.m.

Brennan Barton Goes Supernova in Benbrook Victory
Brennan Barton was instrumental in extending Benbrook's winning streak to seven on Friday. Barton did his part (and then some), throwing for 211 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 59 yards for the 'W'. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.
Godley had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Barton it was a similar story. When Barton last faced the Wildcats back in November of 2023, he threw for 254 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt.
