Birchwood Christian has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were beaten by Kenai Central 58-30 on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Birchwood Christian has scored all season.
Despite their defeat, Birchwood Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Noah Guderian, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all.
Meanwhile, Soldotna's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They put the hurt on Palmer with a sharp 72-52 win. Soldotna has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.
Birchwood Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season. As for Soldotna, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6.
