Henlopen - Northern recap November 5, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Henlopen - Northern this week, Dover beat Poly 28-3. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Cape Henlopen was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from sixth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, the Vikings triumphed over Sussex Central 43-28.
Dover's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Triston Harris threw for 41 and 1 touchdown and Tavarus Sample had 40 yards receiving. On the ground Raekwon Bouges contributed 177 yards.
Bouges provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Dante Jones' team bested the Panthers. Bouges' key target this week was Sample, who caught 3 passes for 40 yards.
Harris put up the best numbers in passing as the Senators beat Poly.
Dover's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Senators feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Nick Spadafino has thrown for 628 yards and 3 touchdowns this season, while Sample has 43 catches for 659 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Caesar Rodney and Dover. The Riders comes into the matchup ranked fifth in the state, while the Senators ranks third.
Dover's Marcellus Pack needs only 7 yards against Caesar Rodney next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 90 carries Pack has put up 993 yards this year.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Mike Schonewolf's team takes on the Senators. The Riders have allowed 180 points this season, while Dover has given up 140. Caesar Rodney allowed 0 points last week as it defeated Smyrna.
The Eagles lost to the Riders 43-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
