The Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 69-17 defeat at the hands of Providence School. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Trinity Christian Academy in their matchups with Providence School: they've now lost seven in a row.
Providence School found their leader in underclassman Ellie Vogelsang, who scored 16 points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that Vogelsang scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Miley Dill, who scored eight points.
Trinity Christian Academy dropped their record down to 2-16 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.7 points per game. As for Providence School, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 19-2.
Trinity Christian Academy and Palatka will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Palatka presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Trinity Christian Academy in Florida (Palatka is ranked 263rd, while Trinity Christian Academy is ranked 536th). As for Providence School, they will be playing in front of their home fans against San Jose Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
