The Highland Trojans's three-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They snuck past Boone Grove with a 52-47 win. The victory was just what Highland needed coming off of a 70-33 defeat in their prior game.
Highland found their leader in underclassman Kayleb Young, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Young grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Walter Glover jr, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Boone Grove lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jack Stevens, who scored 15 points. Corey Noonan was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
The win got Highland back to even at 4-4. As for Boone Grove, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highland will take on Wheeler at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Wheeler focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Saturday. As for Boone Grove, they will head out on the road to face off against New Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (New Prairie is ranked 376th, while Boone Grove is ranked 397th).
