The McDowell Titans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 90-51 victory over Asheville. McDowell has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.
Rylan Parkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 39 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Roby Franklin, who scored 13 points.
Asheville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kendrick Carter, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Carter scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aris Joyner, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
The win (which was McDowell's third in a row) raised their record to 13-2. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.33 points. As for Asheville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McDowell will take on Erwin at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Erwin: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while McDowell has snatched up seven consecutive wins on the road. As for Asheville, they will challenge North Buncombe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Buncombe is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
