Deep Run has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Cosby Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Deep Run has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Deep Run meant business on Friday, getting buckets from all over the court against a Eagles squad that has allowed just 29.43 points per contest. Deep Run walked away with a 58-46 victory over Godwin. Deep Run's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Cosby was beaten by Monacan 67-40 on Thursday. Cosby has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Deep Run pushed their record up to 5-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points per game. As for Cosby, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.
Deep Run beat Cosby 48-38 when the teams last played back in February of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Deep Run since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
