The Grace Prep Lions had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.7 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-41 win over Trinity Christian. Given Grace Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 385th, while Trinity Christian is ranked 1046th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Grace Prep was led to victory by Zaria Howard and Sophie Jordan. Howard dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Jordan scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The game was Howard's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyley Mclean, who scored six points.
Grace Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Trinity Christian, they have fallen quite a ways from their 26-5 record last season and are now at 1-5.
Grace Prep will be home for the holidays to greet Dallas HSAA Red at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Trinity Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Frost at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Frost focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
