Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Thompson Falls should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They will challenge Bigfork on the road at 7:00 PM. Thompson Falls, yet to win a game, are hoping to taste some of the success that has characterized Bigfork's (so far) undefeated season.
Thompson Falls found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 12-33 punch to the gut against Bonners Ferry last week. Thompson Falls got a solid performance out of junior Trey Fisher, who rushed for 83 yards and 1 touchdown; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win. In fact, with 23 tackles Fisher was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, Bigfork faced Lincoln County in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bigfork put a hurting on Lincoln County to the tune of 37-0. Not happy with the 3-0 score at halftime, Bigfork made a real splash in the second half.
Bigfork's victory lifted them to 4-0 while Thompson Falls's defeat dropped them down to 0-4. The Thompson Falls defense got after the quarterback against Bonners Ferry to the tune of 9 sacks, so Bigfork's offensive line better have put in some good practice this past week in preparation for the match.
