The Kingstree Blazers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 29 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Georgetown 63-18 at home. The win was some much needed relief for Kingstree as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
It was another big night for MAKAYLA DUKES, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 steals. DUKES is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was DEMIA MOSLEY, who scored 12 points along with eight steals and five rebounds.
Kingstree pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Georgetown, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
Kingstree won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Manning at 4:00 p.m. on January 6th. Manning will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 264th, while Kingstree is ranked 125th). Georgetown is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Waccamaw at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. Waccamaw has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
