Baseball Recap: Ames Gets the Win

Cedar Falls typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Ames proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers, sneaking past 7-6. The victory continues a trend for the Little Cyclones in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

Ames' win bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Cedar Falls, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season.

Ames and Cedar Falls could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings. The Little Cyclones will face off against Indianola at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (57 vs. 3). Meanwhile, Cedar Falls (ranked 37th) will meet Pleasant Valley (ranked second) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
