On Tuesday, Marian came up short against Notre Dame Academy and fell 40-31.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ella Swanson, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly McLeod, who scored 13 points.
Marian used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Notre Dame Academy. And. Swanson made the most of the opportunity, scoring six points along with seven rebounds and two steals. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.
Marian's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Notre Dame Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.
Marian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Detroit Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on February 20th. As for Notre Dame Academy, they will face off against Regina at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Notre Dame Academy is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Regina in their respective states (Notre Dame Academy is ranked 107th in Ohio, while Regina is ranked 316th in Michigan).
