Eunice is a perfect 10-0 against Jal since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Cardinals will venture away from home to square off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Eunice has seven straight wins, Jal has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
While Eunice's victory against Loving wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cardinals had just enough and edged out the Falcons 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cardinals have posted since April 8th.
Fernando Serna spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jose Calvillo was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
Jal couldn't beat Texico on Saturday even though they stacked six runs on them in the seventh inning. The Panthers fell 15-11 to the Wolverines. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly four runs.
Javier Santillan was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Cristian Diaz was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Eunice's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Jal, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.
Jal's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Eunice has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Jal, though, as they've been averaging 11.9 hits. Given Eunice's sizable advantage in that area, the Panthers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Eunice took their victory against Jal in their previous meeting last Saturday by a conclusive 17-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
