Faith Baptist School is 1-9 against the Flames since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Faith Baptist School Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Greenwood Mennonite Flames at 5:30 p.m. Faith Baptist School will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Last Friday, Faith Baptist School strolled past the Minutemen with points to spare, taking the game 60-43.
Faith Baptist School's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Eli Miller, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Zach Miller, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds. Miller is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Juris, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Greenwood Mennonite scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 59-33 margin over Fairwinds Christian. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Greenwood Mennonite has managed all season.
Greenwood Mennonite got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Carter Long out in front who dropped a triple-double on 15 points, 15 rebounds, and ten assists. It was the first time this season that Long posted eight or more assists. Blake Mast was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Faith Baptist School's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. As for Greenwood Mennonite, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-6.
Faith Baptist School beat the Flames 61-49 in their previous matchup last Thursday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Faith Baptist School since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
