Powhatan and Midlothian are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Indians will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Powhatan took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Thomas Dale as they made off with a 9-2 win. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

At the plate, Ava Harper was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Mazie Harmon, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Midlothian strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let L.C. Bird get on the board and left with a 21-0 win. With that victory, the Trojans brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.
Lea Foldeneaur and Erika Fiege made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Foldeneaur tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Fiege pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Foldeneaur went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI, while Fiege went 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Foldeneaur a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Charlotte Corcoran, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Josie Renschler, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Midlothian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.
Midlothian pushed their record up to 11-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Powhatan, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Powhatan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .352. However, it's not like Midlothian struggles in that department as they've averaged .336. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Powhatan came up short against Midlothian in their previous meeting back in March, falling 3-0. Will the Indians have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
