Franklin Road Academy and Battle Ground Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2018, but not for long. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Franklin Road Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup last Friday. They blew past Lausanne Collegiate 49-21. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Franklin Road Academy found their leader in sophomore Jack Nimitz, who threw for 298 yards and four TDs while completing 89.3% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Those four passing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Nimitz. Cam Glenn was in the mix too, providing Franklin Road Academy with two touchdowns.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Franklin Road Academy proved: they limited Lausanne Collegiate to a paltry 3.1 yards per carry. The Panthers didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.2.
Meanwhile, Battle Ground Academy faced Boyd-Buchanan in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Friday. The Wildcats took their contest with ease, bagging a 49-3 victory over the Buccaneers. With the Wildcats ahead 28-3 at the half, the game was all but over already.
A big part of Battle Ground Academy's win came down to the chemistry between Kaedyn Marable and his top target Max Curry. Marable threw for 324 yards and four TDs while completing 78.9% of his passes while Curry picked up 166 receiving yards and three scores. Marable has been hot, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last eight times he's played.
Battle Ground Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Christian Walker and Evan Kellum. Kellum got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Franklin Road Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Battle Ground Academy, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.
Thursday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Nimitz and Marable. Nimitz just won't slow down this season and has thrown 15 touchdowns (and and only 1 picks) while averaging 243 passing yards per game. Marable has been a dominant force too and has thrown 52 touchdowns (and and only 4 pick) while averaging 264.1 passing yards per game.
Franklin Road Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Battle Ground Academy in their previous meeting back in September, winning 21-14. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Marable, who threw for 158 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 91 yards.
