There's no place like home for The Holston Cavaliers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Rural Retreat 29-28. The victory was just what Holston needed coming off of a 43-6 loss in their prior match.
Rural Retreat's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Roberts, who threw for 147 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 passes.
Holston's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.0 points per game. As for Rural Retreat, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Holston will head out on the road to face off against Chilhowie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chilhowie is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Rural Retreat, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Honaker at 7:30 p.m. Honaker is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
