Football Recap: Kossuth Finds Playoff Glory Versus Holly Springs

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Kossuth had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 49-8 win over the Holly Springs Hawks. The result was nothing new for the Aggies, who have now won five contests by 27 points or more so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kossuth to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trey Arthur, who rushed for 64 yards and one score. That's the most rushing yards Arthur has posted since back in September.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Kossuth was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 234 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 150 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Kossuth pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.0 points over those games. As for Holly Springs, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Coming up, Kossuth will challenge Choctaw County at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Eli Tays and Jeramiah Miller. Holly Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
