Dixie is 9-1 against Desert Hills since January of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Dixie Flyers will venture away from home to take on the Desert Hills Thunder at 7:00 p.m. Desert Hills took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Dixie, who comes in off a win.
Dixie took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They took down Snow Canyon 49-35. Given the Flyers' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Warriors are ranked 89th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dixie's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyson Forsey led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds gave Forsey a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jay Jay Davey, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Dixie smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Desert Hills came up short against Crimson Cliffs on Wednesday and fell 48-41. The contest marked the Thunder's lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Dixie will need focus on slowing down Ben Chase, one of several Desert Hills players who made an impact when they last played. He went 6 of 10 on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Rasmussen, who posted 13 points and eight rebounds.
Desert Hills' defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-6. As for Dixie, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Dixie has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 26.3 boards per game. However, it's not like Desert Hills struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.3 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Dixie against Desert Hills in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 73-40 victory. Will Dixie repeat their success, or does Desert Hills have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
