After flying high against the Pleasant Home Eagles last Tuesday, the Shields Panthers came back down to earth. Shields fell 61-52 to Georgiana on Tuesday. The game was a 27-27 toss-up at halftime, but Shields was outscored by Georgiana in the second.
Shields has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Georgiana, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shields will challenge Red Level at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Red Level focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Friday. As for Georgiana, they will head out on the road to face off against Straughn at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
