Laughlin lost against Awaken Christian in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 50-31 score last time.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jason Castro, who scored 19 points along with 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brett Schnitzler, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Awaken Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylen Jordan, who scored 22 points along with 5 steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Jordan has scored at least 25% of Awaken Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Jadon Kenny, who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds.
Laughlin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Awaken Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
