While it was all tied up 28-28 at halftime, The Bryan Vikings were not quite the Hutto Hippos''s equal in the second half on Friday. Bryan fell just short of Hutto by a score of 66-63. Bryan was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hutto apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaiah nutall, who rushed for 214 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrence Lewis, who gained 234 total yards and two touchdowns.
Hutto was led to victory by Alex Green and Will Hammond. Green picked up 365 receiving yards and four touchdowns, while Hammond rushed for 191 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Green's longest reception was for an incredible 88 yards.
Bryan are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7. As for Hutto, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-6.
Bryan will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Harker Heights at 7:30 p.m. Harker Heights presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bryan in Texas (Harker Heights is ranked 157th, while Bryan is ranked 400th). As for Hutto, they will head out on the road to face off against Weiss on Thursday. Weiss will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
