Softball Recap: Towanda Has No Trouble Against Susquehanna

While Towanda put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Susquehanna. Towanda put the hurt on Susquehanna with a sharp 10-0 win. With that victory, the Black Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Brynsen Vargason was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Payton Perry was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Towanda was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Towanda now has a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Towanda will be playing in front of their home fans against Troy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Towanda 2.4, Troy 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Susquehanna, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Blue Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on April 9.
