Danville is 9-1 against Greencastle since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Danville Warriors will be playing at home against the Greencastle Tiger Cubs at 7:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Danville's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Greencastle has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Danville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Cascade 58-36. Given Danville's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Cascade is ranked 207th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Danville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emma Ancelet, who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ancelet has scored at least 25% of Danville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Davis, who scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Greencastle's 23-5 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were outmatched by Indian Creek at home and fell 61-25. Greencastle has not had much luck with Indian Creek recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Danville's victory lifted them to 7-1 while Cascade's defeat dropped them down to 2-6.
Everything went Danville's way against Greencastle in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as Danville made off with a 70-50 win. Will Danville repeat their success, or does Greencastle have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
